Bootstrap DEA Analysis of Comparative Efficiencies of Islamic Banks: Across Nine South and Southeast Asian Countries

Using panel data (2011-2016), this paper applied the Bootstrap Data Envelope Analysis (DEA) and obtained overall technical efficiencies (TE), pure (PTE), scale of Islamic bank nine South Southeast Asian countries The found average TE, PTE, SE were 77.3 percent, 81.2 95.3 percent respectively. Comparison found: (i) TE banks Malaysia was 81.9 highest in region; (ii) managerial efficiency (PTE 87.00) region except Brunei, Singapore, Thailand; (iii) Pakistan’s 96.8 Singapore Maldives.. reason why Pakistan most efficient is because they first to introduce operating side by with conventional region.
